About the Artist
Lee Richards is a jewelry artist based in Union, Missouri, whose journey began with a spark of inspiration during her college years at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Art. It was there, amidst the creative explorations offered by the art department, that Lee discovered the metals studio. Captivated by the art of metalsmithing, she found her true calling and has never looked back.

Lee’s jewelry is a vibrant reflection of her love for diverse cultures and the infinite possibilities of metal. Drawing on techniques such as hammering, etching, piercing, and enameling, she creates pieces that are rich in texture and depth. Her work often features multiple layers, adding visual intrigue and a tactile quality that invites touch and engagement.

Deeply committed to her craft and community, Lee plays an active role in various Missouri arts organizations. She is a juried member and has served as Past President (2017-2019) and Vice President (2014-2016) of Best of Missouri Hands and served as a member and past board member of the Society for Midwest Metalsmiths.
